Abstract

This study presents a comprehensive bibliometric and visualized analysis of global nursingresearch in hemodialysis (HD) from 2002 to 2023. A total of 1,019 publications were retrievedfrom the Web of Science Core Collection, including 924 articles and 95 reviews. CiteSpaceandVOSviewer were utilized to analyze research trends, influential contributors, and thematic evolution in the field. Results showed that the United States, China, and Australia were the topthree contributing countries, while the University of Sao Paulo ranked highest among institutions. The leading journals included Nephrology Nursing Journal and Journal of Renal Care. Major research clusters focused on patient quality of life, self-management, anxiety and depression, vascular access, and caregiver experiences. Emerging frontiers were identified in pain management and validation studies. The study revealed that mental health and self-efficacyinHD patients have become critical issues in nursing research. Findings highlight the necessityfor global collaboration and evidence-based interventions tailored to the psychosocial and clinical needs of HD patients. This study offers valuable guidance for future research and clinical practice by identifying research gaps and predicting development trends in HDnursing.
